End-of-the Project Evaluations: UNDP Support to Jurisdictional REDD+ Strategies and Investment Plans: West Papua
Dala conducted an end-of-project evaluation for the UNDP and Green Climate Fund (GCF) supported project operating from 2018 to 2020. The objective of the project was to support the Jurisdictional REDD+ Strategies and Investment Plans in West Papua. This evaluation was conducted at the end of the project and focused on the entire implementation period. The overall purpose of the evaluation was to assess the processes and achievements made to draw lessons that would report to UNDP, the donor of the project, but not specifically to: (1) verify the project reports and achievements independently; (2) compile diverse good practices in the work field during the project; and (3) highlight the learning outcomes, especially those related to good practices, lessons learned related to gender equality and social inclusion, and jurisdictions of low emissions development.
Background
Inobu (in collaboration with the Earth Innovation Institute) supported the Provincial Government of West Papua to implement jurisdictional approaches under a project titled ‘An overarching strategy for low emission development in West Papua’. The project aimed at supporting the Jurisdictional REDD+ Strategies and Investment Plans in West Papua. It was funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) between December 2018 and September 2020. This end-of-project evaluation focused on the entire implementation period. Its overall purpose was to assess and verify the processes and achievements made in order to draw lessons and establish recommendations. The evaluation report highlighted learning outcomes, especially those related to good practices, lessons drawn related to gender equality and social inclusion and jurisdictions of low emissions development.
